Spring Show.
Saturday 27th March 2010
2.30pm St John's Primary School, Danbury

Well if you have coaxed some spring flowers into bloom please do bring them along to the Spring Show. Exhibiting is very easy and our Show Secretary, Stephanie Pyne can point you in the right direction if you are a first time exhibitor. Meacock and Jones Estate Agents have regularly patronised the Society by supporting us with photocopying our Schedules. They continue to support us by donating a new Trophy, the Meacock & Jones Plate. Recognising that our more prolific cooks are not acknowledged, the new trophy will be awarded to the exhibitor attaining the highest aggregate score in the cookery classes at each show. Mr Peter Jones will join us at the Spring Show to present the Award, an attractive silver cake stand, for the first time, along with the other prizes.

Talk

Friday 5th February 2010, Village Hall, Danbury. 8.00pm.

"Essex Wildlife throughout the Year" John Buckingham

John travelled from Tonbridge in Kent to bring us a most exciting talk covering all aspects of wildlife from birds, to funghi, mammals to plants with plenty of frogs thrown in too. John's encyclopaedic knowledge was illustrated with his own magnificent photographs and his enthusiasm had everyone captivated. A really fantastic evening!
